Chip board brag book, with yogurt box

I made this project with Cristina over at Crafting with Cristina in mind. Her Companion Challenge #2: Create a recycled project is going on NOW and will end SUNDAY, AUGUST 1st at MIDNIGHT PST. Go check out her blog!!! She makes some REALLY great projects:)

I thought why not try to make my FIRST chip board book. I didn't have anyone special in mind for this book, so I wanted it to be generic.....I will add to it when I decide to use it.

I wanted this book to be either used for a boy or girl, so I kept that in mind while selecting my paper.

Tip:
Look closely for the metal "rod" behind the finished book in the video (or the 2nd photo below). It's a cake tester....but it is one of my favorite scrapping tools. I used it to run the ribbon through the tiny holes.

**When making this book, I didn't have a plan in place. I wasn't sure how I would bind the book together. I placed brads in the upper left corners, then covered the pages completely, so I just punched a 1/16 hole and tied ribbon:)

~~~~~updated after I posted, not sure why but I stated *brads*, I really meant *eyelets*, oops!!~~~~~
Cloth Diaper Burp Rags with Cricut Cuts - Baby Bees
I thought I would give a "semi-video" a whirl. Took pics and turned them into a mini movie - let me know what you think.
I made these cute 'lil burp rags for a friend of mine that is delivering TWINS tomorrow! They don't really have a theme and only have a name for the girl, so I figured why not go with bees?? Seemed cute!
Please keep mom and babies in your thoughts, as the babies are 34 wks tomorrow and will remain in the NICU for a while. I took these up to her tonight and she LOVED them!! A fun hospital gift for pre-baby:)
Many of you asked how I did the ladybug burp rags, so I thought I would put this together, hopefully this helps you. Feel free to ask, if needed.
Cricut Details:
regular blade housing
pressure 5
speed 2
blade housing 5 or 6 - I've cut with both - I think it depends on your mat
**I have learned to "glue", use double-sided "tape" or a NEW board with cutting material. Once you take these steps, cutting material is a BREEZE!! Believe me, when I say I have had a ton of trial and error:)
Kids Birthday Card
Hello! Thought I would share this cute simple cad with you:)
This card was made for my youngest son's BEST BUDDY!! They are one week apart...same height, blonde hair, blue eyes......too cute!! He is THEIR youngest too - It is sad to think that are babies are growing up:( *sniff, sniff* They are toooooooo little to be going into 1st grade in less than one month.
Anywho....back to the card! My son thought it was fun to coordinate his gift - he comes by it honest:) Instead of getting "our" usual birthday gift, either a gift card to the movie theater or Marble Slab .....Kohlsen wanted to shop for Trevor!! He picked out a jump rope, a water gun, a blow up punching bag, and frisbee:).......ALL BLUE, so the card had to match right!
I have to say - it was precious watching him carry all his "finds" to the counter to check out - it would have been too easy to place them into a cart - he had to carry them!!! *love*
The card measures.....you got it - 5 1/2 x 4/1/4. I did add "texture to the happy birthday embossing by rubbing a sponge dabbed with white ink over the embossed area.
Recipe:
Card stock:
blue
Paper:
aqua and white
Accessories/Embellishments:
Stampin' Up stamps
Stampin' Up white ink
Marvy Markers
CUTTLE BUG (happy birthday folder)
Ladybug Shower Invites....Finished, Take a Peek!
First off, I want to send a HUGE thank you to all my bloggie friends that gave me input for these cute invites!!
Not ONE ladybug is like the other:)
Inside of card - I really like how the layering turned out - I had planned to get clear Avery circle labels, BUT I couldn't find circles that large (the red is 3 1/4 inches), so I had to get thrifty!! I bought mailing labels 3 1/3 x 4, printed the info and then cut it out with a 3 inch circle punch. I wanted to be able to peel and pick - so I went this way. But one COULD print on regular paper and then glue or XYRON.
I have had SEVERAL people ask about making "shape" cards - so I will be putting together a tutorial for you - keep checking back:)
Christmas Globe Card
I created this card for Emma's Throwback Thursday's Challenge - if you haven't ran across her yet OR want to get involved with her fun challenges, check her out HERE!!
This week we were to create a card using WILD CARD that is inspired by our favorite holiday.
For me this was a toss up: Christmas or Halloween - both are SUPER fun to decorate for, but Christmas won out because of it's meaning:)
This card measures 4 x 3 1/2.
Yep, you're right this image is NOT on the Wild Card cart!! The option for the Christmas card was the envelope I used, but the card was an ornament....boo! So why not make what I want, right?? I found a square, added a snow globe and used cuts from PPDU to place inside:) I wanted the card and envelope to match so I used a Christmas tree to tie them together.
Recipe:
Gypsy and Cricut Expressions
Card stock:
golden yellow, black, white, brown
Paper:
The Paper Studio "Texture-Light Blue" & "Texture-Brown"
Accessories/Embellishments:
Stampin' Up stamps
Stampin' Up white ink
Gel Pen (white, maroon)
Basket Accents-Shredded Paper (shimmer red & white)
Red & Navy Blue marker
Adhesives:
Zig, Two Way
Double Sided Tape
Zyron
Cartridges:
Paper Doll Dress Up (Christmas tree, reindeer & gingerbread man)
DoodleCharms (globe)
Wild Card (star, envelope & idea to make my own card to match)
Square...don't remember which cart I used
Friends - Pop-Up / Interactive Card
I made this card for a challenge over at Crafting with Cristina. This is her VERY FIRST challenge and she will holding one every other Wednesday....so go check her site out! This project was to do something a normal card doesn't....she titled it: Flip- Flop, Spin & pop! The main goal was to create an interactive project, here's mine:
This card measures 4 1/2 x 5 1/4, plus the ribbon. I used punches, Close to My Heart stamps, CTMH markers, and un-branded paper/ribbon for this project. Sadly, I didn't even touch my cricut. I used double sided tape, regular tape and pop dots.........This was a very simple card, yet it is very cool! I would love to receive this:) If I was do make the "same" card again - I would use lighter colors of paper OR stamp the girl and girlfriends images on lighter paper.
Hope this gives you inspiration!!
