Cathy's Office Sign / "Spots and Dots" Made by Momo Challenge AND "Bugs, Bees, Ants, or Ladybugs" Paper Playtime Challenge

This was made by special request!! Hope she likes it!!

Details:
I started out with a black piece of The Paper Studio "Texture-Black" paper, made a cut from WILD CARD (pg. 58, telephone dial). I "gypsied" it so I only cut out the "dials and outside circle". Then took a lime green piece of card stock from Hobby Lobby and "gypsied" it again, this time only cutting the "inside" circle. Next I used DoodleBug Design Inc. "ladybug-sugar coated" cardstock and cut out yet again another circle, but only the "outside" circle this time. Those cuts made the black circle, red spots and green circle.

To make the lady bug heads, I used the dial cuts and cut them in half. I added brads for their eyes and stitched with white gel. For the body divider, I cut thin strips of paper and glued them underneath the black. The spots on the lady bug bodies are brads also. I just love all the uses for brads:)

I rubbed my stamp around the edges of the lime green paper to add some antiquing and then rubbed it also the top of the paper to add a bit of texture. The lettering is from DON JUAN, again I gypsied the font, rotating & welding it. I added while gel pen highlighting. I wanted a bit more, so I run the lettering through my cuddlebug.

For a few extra touches I added Offray Ribbon "Dot Red" to make a "hanger" for this sign. I thought a little flower would add a great touch, so I grabbed a Flower Brad from The Paper Studio Spare Parts (again another brad) and attached it to the lime green card stock.

To finish up I covered the back with a white piece of card stock for a finished look.

The "heads" and lime green card stock are "raised" with pop dots for dimension. Speaking of dimension.....the measures 11 1/4 inches diameter.

I really had fun making this item!!

Fish Outta Water Card

Posted by Picasa

This card was REALLY hard to photograph.

I made this card for my older son that is at church camp. He loves fishing, so I thought I would incorporate that into his card.

The card is from WILD CARD, fisherman/boat is from GOING PLACES and the fish is from PAPER DOLLS FOR EVERYDAY.

I used a pale yellow card stock from Hobby Lobby for the card, The Paper Studio "Holographic Rain Turquoise" Sticker paper to cover the front and inside "square", The Paper Studio "Orange Gingham" for the fisherman's hat, My Mind's Eye "Check Him Out" for the fisherman's shirt, The Paper Studio "Shimmer Silver" for the fish. I colored on the shorts, added a bit of highlight to the fish with an orange & green gel pen. Plus surrounded the boat with white gel pen. I cut out the original "boat" in black card stock from Hobby Lobby, then cut out a another one using The Paper Studio "Gold Wedding Texture" for the man. BTW, love this paper for skin!! I cut out additional "boats" for the hat and shirt. Put them altogether and we have a man, not just a silhouette.

Thank you for Sarah - I used a PRIZE I won!!! Close to My Heart, My Acrylix Stamps for the inside wording.

For the envelope I used the cut that matched the card from WILD CARD, using The Paper Studio "Alex's Plaid" for the outside and a navy blue card stock from Hobby Lobby for the liner.

This card was really fun to make - hope you enjoyed peeking!!

Happy Cricuting!!

Emma's 3rd Throwback Thursday Challenge 6.17.10

Okay to be honest with you....this was a hard week to fit in any "crafting" let alone a random project. The day this challenge came out it was my friend's memorial, so I didn't see the video until Friday. I had lots of ideas running thru my head.....I thought this was a perfect time to include the kids and get a head start on school/teacher gifts for the upcoming year. It just never happened.

So this afternoon I wanted to fit a little craftiness in and I thought I would make a fun gift for a birthday (no one in mind). I liked Emma's vampire, so I thought I would stick with the theme.

I used SWEET TREATS to make the box and PAPER DOLL DRESS UP for the cute 'lil alien.

If you are interested in playing along here are the instructions:
~Must use Paper Doll Dress Up or an older cartridge if you don't own PDDU
~Your project must be original
~This challenge is to make a 3-D or altered item
~Deadline for project is TODAY/Sunday @ midnight CENTRAL STANDARD TIME

So if you want to have a bit of fun too, check out Emma's post:

F - I hope you had a FABULOUS birthday - better than any girl could wish for!!!

Apple Tree Anniversary Card

This was made for my FIL/MIL for their upcoming anniversary. I didn't want to do a traditional card, but what else says HAPPY ANNIVERSARY??? Next thing I knew I was cutting out apples and botta bing botta boom.....I found my "theme"......the apple doesn't fall from from the tree. The apples in the tree are my mil/fil, they have three sons, two daughter in laws and six grandsons.....hence all the apples. I just LOVE the 'lil bird house. The "hole is a brad and since I had the brads out, I thought would else could i use them for......hmmm, stems for the apples. So I cut the brad back off and used them as perfect little stems!

Hope you enjoy this "different" anniversary card.

PLUS, I have BIG news: I will be participating in my VERY first Blog Hop in July------>watch for details!!

Just for fun card....

This is for the children's minister that took the kids to camp! I asked for info on shipping a box to my son and she responded but also stated that I shouldn't "forget to include something for my favorite children's minister, oh nevermind 'liquids' don't ship well, lol"! So, I thought I would send this card to her for camp.

I don't 'currently' have a cart that has a martini on it, so I made this card using a triangle, "T", oval, circle and "l"......for puzzling it together, I think it turned out rather well.

Happy cricuting!

My Creative Time "Throwback Thursday" Challenge

This is my first time to participate in a challenge and this is my first "shape" card. I was so excited to make it, although as I look at it - I wish it had a bit more detail. Practice, practice, practice!!! I wanted to make a goat card for a family member, but I didn't have a goat on any of my carts........so I went with a sheep! Still cute! I used the "paper doll dress up" cart for the sheep, the "ashlyn's alphabet" cart for the "ewe" and the "wild card" cart "made my day".

Hope you enjoy looking at my creations!
