Make a Wish Birthday Card

Card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4...perfect for an A2 envelope (1/4 size of US letter sized paper)...if you don't make your own envelopes, I made the envelope to match using the Green Swirl frosting:)

I really like this card because the colors came out perfect for a boy or girl. I specifically made this card for a girl that has invited the boys to her birthday party (although they aren't here to go:(, I will still mail this to her). She is/has been on the boy's baseball team for several years now and is not into GIRLY things....so I thought the color scheme fit the bill!

How To:
I wanted to only emboss the side of the card, so here's how I did it.

I layed the purple paper inside the embossing folder, used tape to hold the folder shut and in place and ALSO taped the back of the purple paper to help hold it still. Then I used my kitchen rolling pin to emboss the paper. I used quit a bit of pressure to ensure the embossing. I was able to view the paper (since it was taped) to make sure all the paper had been embossed BEFORE I removed the tape.

Tip: I like Scotch "satin finish" tape, it goes on clear and when you need to use it in a "removable" circumstance it comes right off w/out leaving a mark.

Recipe:

Martha Stewart Corner-Rounder

"Baby Shower" Card - Challenges

This card is for two challenges:
My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday
The Pink Stamper's Color Challenge

For My Creative Time's Challenge, we were suppose to use NEW ARRIVAL, but I unfortunately don't own that cart. But I did use "older" carts and kept with the "theme".

For The Pink Stamper's Challenge, we were suppose to use Pink, Brown, Orange and Green.

Click on the links above if you think you might want to join in the challenge fun.

This card measures 6X6.

Upclose mom.
After editing this post - I rounded off the mom's movable arm, to look more realistic. AND rounded the corners of the card:)

TIP:
Transferring SMALL cuts

Ever have SMALL cuts you need to transfer, but don't want to "mess" up??
These are the spokes for the wheel on the carriage.

I grabbed some transfer tape (normally used with vinyl).

Rubbed over the spokes.

Flipped the transfer tape over, added adhesive and placed over wheels. I rubbed gently to adhere glue, then removed transfer tape after a few moments.

CARD in PROGRESS:
Layout in Gypsy.

First Friday Challenge #1: Summer Fruits

Good morning cricut friends!! Are you up for my FIRST challenge ever??? I'm excited and I can't wait to see what creations my friends come up with.

A few details:
I will be doing a challenge (for now) on the FIRST FRIDAY of every month. When prizes and entries increase, maybe the time between challenges will decrease. I will have my challenge up in the morning, usually around 8 am central and you will have until the following MONDAY at midnight central to envision, create & enter. I will have a Mister Linky on my page and that's how you will enter. If you don't have an url, send me your entry at: CRICUTmeTHAT@gmail.com The winner will be chosen from random.org and announced on Tuesday mornings.

I will have a "theme" each challenge and the entry needs to follow the theme. I will always create a sample entry and will do my best to have "guest" designers.

The entries MUST be original and made for this challenge, AFTER the posted challenge and only one entry per person, please.

Now on to the fun.....
July's challenge is "Summer Fruits". Please use fruits that you find in the summertime and feel free to interpret this theme however you would like. You may make a card, complete a layout, design an altered item, etc. I look forward to seeing each and everyone of your creations.

The prize for this challenge is an EK flip flop punch!!

Ready, Set, Go......Have Fun!
Hope our designs get your creative juices flowing!!

My design
I wanted to use blueberries, in honor of July being National Blueberry Month and I love ice cream. What a great combination, hope you enjoy it.

I used my cricut markers for this writing, font came from the Wild Card cart.

This card measures 5x7.

I didn't have a cart with blue berries on it - so I made them!! I used a circle (from any cart) and a star from Ashlyn's Alphabet and glued them together.....using two different shades of glitter paper, I think they look real, don't you?

Circle cut at: .69
Star cut at: .52 x .49

I placed the stars various ways on the "blueberries" and cut off any extra paper.
