To share or not to share, cookie jar - TEACHER'S GIFT

I LOVE to spoil my children's teachers...this is what I came up with for the first day of school gift! I will not be giving them suckers, they will get chocolate! I just have not made it to the store yet to get THEIR candy!!

Each jar has their last name initial is vinyl on both sides. I used Elegant Cakes cart for the lettering.

LOVE the sentiment!!!
The large red circle was cut with my cricut and the yellow scallop was cut using Forever Young cart.....I used my qypsy and hide the rest of the FLOWER. I don't have any other cart that has a scallop, so that's how I make one. The other circles were cut out with punches. The sentiment was printed out and everything was adhered with double sided tape or glue dots.

Here are the three I made.....

Crayon Pretzels, Back to School Snacks

The boys and I made crayon pretzel sticks....enjoy our video!! Leave it up to boys - the chocolate REALLY colors, LOL!!! We had extra chocolate, so we made an extra treat - look for it at the end:) Enjoy!!!

This free slideshow made with Smilebox

**20 oz. bottle swap filled with goodies for halloween/fall**

I created a "smilebox" for you to hopefully get the concept, if you still have questions, it is fine, just email me.

If you are interested, all you have to do is email me (cricutmethat@gmail.com) with BOTTLE SWAP in the subject line, include your facebook name and a blog link (if you have one).
...
Details:
~Sign up ENDS at midnight (cst) on Monday, Sept. 6th

~When you sign up, I will return your email with a "questionnaire", this will help your SENDER to know more about you

~I will then gather the participants and assign swap "sisters" (for lack of a better term) You will know to whom you will be mailing a bottle to by Wednesday, Sept. 8th

~You will have several weeks to shop and gather ideas for the receiver of your bottle

~Bottles MUST be MAILED no later than Wednesday, Sept. 29th....to ensure everyone the month of October to PLAY with their goodies:)

~When mailing your bottle, just secure the twist on top with tape or glue AND your mailing label will go right on the outside of you bottle and YES the post office will mail your bottle

~Sadly, THIS swap is only open to the USA, as I am not really sure about costs or regulations to other countries.

~If you keep items light, your cost to mail bottle should be around $3 to $6, PROBABLY less, but I rather state more, than less

~The items you place into the bottle to swap MUST be NEW, unused items. You do not need to keep items in packaging and you may only send a few items of one thing (ie: tags, 20 come in a package, but you could put 4 in the bottle???)

~The value of the bottle should around $20....that doesn't mean you have to spend that! Be creative - you have LOTS of time to find DEALS!!! (and time to budget)

~Questions - email me:)

Fondant Ladybugs....

Well, I needed to start working on fondant ladybugs for a cake I'm doing and I figured why not.....so the boys got to "help", they each made two and they HAD a BLAST!!!

Isn't she cute????

Bat Intentions?

I wanted to do a quick, fun, different, but easy card to break up my day....so here it is!

Paula over at More Than Favors is having a fun challenge titled Wacky Wednesday Halloween Themed. I thought, hey why not? This was probably one of my quickest cards yet. I am also only going to make a QUICK post, so not much detail...sorry!!

Hope you enjoy!!

This card is 6 x 6! "Bat Intentions?" was printed from the computer.

Black spider and white web are both cut using sparkle/glitter paper. The web was from Paper Doll Dress Up and the Spider from Wild Card.

The bat was cute using Paper Doll Dress Up. I didn't like how the "shadow" turned out, so I cut my own.

I covered both sides of the insides with white cardstock, then inked it and "dotted" with a purple gel pen.

I like to stamp on the back, but I don't have ANY halloween stamps, so I got creative....I used the spider's cut-out paper/trash and traced it and then went over it. Not to bad - eh?

CUTE, fun halloween card.......Now I'm in the mood for FALL!!!! Not that the 150* weather isn't helping, LOL!!!

BTW, all the paper I had in "stock", so now I need to get to crafting with halloween in mind!

Thanks Paula for a quick, easy break during my day!!!

First Friday's Challenge #2: Girlfriends

Good morning cricut friends!! Are you up for a challenge??? I'm excited and I can't wait to see what creations my friends come up with.

A few details:
I will be doing a challenge specifically for the FIRST FRIDAY of every month. When prizes and entries increase, maybe the time between challenges will decrease. I will have my challenge up in the morning, 8 am central and you will have until the following MONDAY at midnight central to envision, create & enter. I will have a Mister Linky on my page and that's how you will enter. If you don't have an url, send me your entry at: CRICUTmeTHAT@gmail.com and I will enter your picture for you. The winner will be chosen from random.org and announced on Tuesday mornings.

HOWEVER, this challenge will have TWO winners......one will be picked with the random.org generator AND the second will be "judged". All your entries will be placed over on my facebook page in an album. The album will be posted on Tuesday AFTER the random.org winner is announced, the entries will then stay open for "likes" until Wednesday morning....24 hours of judging.

I will have a "theme" each challenge and the entry needs to follow the theme. I will always create a sample entry and will do my best to have "guest" designers.

The entries MUST be original and made for this challenge, AFTER the posted challenge and only one entry per person, and you must use ONE cut using your cricut.

Now on to the fun.....
August's theme is "girlfriends" - anything can be interpreted. I choose this topic since Aug. 1st is National Girlfriends Day, however as girls we can ALWAYS find a reason to scrap about girlfriends, create a card to send to a girlfriend or alter something as a gift. This theme just seemed fun, plus "girlfriends" have been important to me in my life, especially this summer, I have seen how precious life really is and you need to cherish the girls you have in your life.

The "random" prize winner for this challenge will receive:
Making Memories Layered Button Stickers....to me they look like fall, perfect timing:)
Bead Party Peel & Stick Rhinestones....every girl needs some "bling"
An Aluminum Bottle from me, see sample here (you choose color, name & image)....doesn't every girl need a labeled bottle

The "judged" winner will get to enjoy ShOpPiNg at their favorite store!!
They will be awarded $10 CASH, an aluminum bottle and a SET of 4 girlfriend cards (made by me).

Ready, Set, Go......Have Fun!
Hope our designs get your creative juices flowing!!

Pink Cricut Give-a-Way / Thank you to "my" blogging world!!

Hop over to Sarah's site PinkCricut......check out her website and all her crafty creations. She has a give-a-way going on right now and you need to go check it out :)

She is a really sweet gal and I would love to meet her sometime. Even though we have NEVER meet, I feel a true connection to her. I don't think she knows how much she has helped me in my "healing" process. Almost 2 months ago I had a REALLY sweet, dear friend basically die in front of me.

**I just searched emails to find dates, because that entire month was a complete BLUR to me...hence the reason I JUST joined the Cricut Circle. We became friends on June 9th and Wendy's tragedy happened on the 11th and she passed on the 12th.

However, Sarah emailed me on June 12th and let me know I was a WINNER of a stamp set that she was giving away - whoo hoo! But honestly at that time, I was thinking "stamp set, big deal, I just lost a friend". That was my first EVER blog/facebook candy win (still is)...actually it was my first give-a-way I had entered online. I SHOULD have been elated, but the feelings were not there. Don't you love the "curve" balls life throws at you??

Back to Sarah......We had just "friend-ed" each other over on facebook and few days prior - so we basically had NO knowledge of one another. She probably thought I was a goofy person, because I did not respond to her emails.....hadn't really read them! I sat down on Saturday evening, maybe Sunday to look at emails and update my facebook page.....which has gone neglected since then. She instant messaged me to see if I was at the computer...sure enough I was. I have to be honest, I really didn't want to talk, but she told me I had won and she would like to get them in the mail and needed my address. I responded and poor lady probably thought I was crazy! I apologize and let her know details of what had just happened and she let me "CRY" through our conversation via IM.....She even went as far as to ask about the family. When I received my stamps, she had included handmade cards for each of the girls (6 and 9) that my friend tragically left behind.

I don't think I ever thanked her.....that time was very difficult and is still REALLY a struggle to *write* or talk about. But to receive such a kind action of love from a complete stranger, touched my heart!!!

As the month went by Sarah asked if I would join her in her picnic blog hop, I agreed. Then she was asked to be a guest designer in my first Friday Challenge, she agreed.....and the rest they say is history!!

Thank you Sarah for being my blog friend!!

Creating has become VERY therapeutic for me and I seem to have created my own world of friends in this blogging community. Which has almost been necessary, otherwise I would have probably curled up and died.

Thank you to all my internet friends that "unknowingly" have helped me heal. A shout out to Carri at DoubleClick , she has been a BIG encourager and awarded me my first blog award. My emotions where so HIGH at the time that I sat and cried and cried over my first award....that was VERY special to me!! Thank you!!

If you are STILL reading my ramblings, thank you for hangin' in there 'til the end!! I TRULY LOVE each and every one of you!!

As Wendy always said:
It's All Good!

Thinking of You, Butterfly card, Bleach Stamped

Hello, thanks for stopping by my corner of the world!!

I wanted to try this technique I came across.....bleach stamping.

I took a piece of cardstock (yellow) and large block stamp, a sided dish/bowl, laid paper towels down in the dish, poured bleach over the paper towels (just enough bleach for the paper towels to soak up), placed the block stamp on the bleached paper towels, just like an ink pad, dabbed it just stamped the cardstock. See the yellow piece of cardstock??

There is DEFINITELY a learning curve, but I creates a fun effect!! I also tried it with a blue piece of cardstock and a smaller stamp......once you see the inside of the card, notice the bleaching around the edges of purple piece of cardstock.

Recipe:
Expressions and Gypsy
Card stock:
white, yellow, pink, orange, blue, purple

Accessories/Embellishments:
Stampin' Up stamps
Stampin' Up lime and purple ink
Bleach as ink
Lime Green Zig Zag Ribbon - Hobby Lobby
White gel pen

Adhesives:
Pop Dots
Xyron
Zig two way glue

Cartridges:
Paper Dolls for Everyday

This card was "inspired" by a friend that loss someone dear to them this week!! My thoughts are with you friend:)
